Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, M.Sc. and PhD in Neuroscience from Universidad de Valparaíso, Chile.
Katica holds a PhD in Neuroscience and has extensive expertise in basic & clinical research, management and science communication.
Before joining Teamit, Katica was the manager of Esade’s Decision Lab, the first academic experimental research facility designed to advance the school’s research and educational innovation strategy. Additionally, Katica actively participated in the team leading the communications & dissemination strategy of ATTRACT EU, a research initiative funded by the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme and co-led by important European research infrastructures (CERN, EMBL, Esade, ESO, among others).
Before moving to Barcelona (2016), Katica worked as a researcher in various fields and different research centres such as Centro Interdisciplinario de Neurociencia Valparaíso, The Mind and Brain Institute at Johns Hopkins University and the Neurology department at Massachusetts General Hospital. Throughout her career, Katica actively participated in science outreach and also worked as a curriculum developer and instructor in Science from Scientists, a nonprofit that provides during-school STEM programming to elementary and middle schools students in the USA.
She recently joined Teamit (2021) as a Study Project Manager for VAC4EU, where she will manage a multi-country pharmacoepidemiology study for vaccine safety and effectiveness.
